• Food Technology Technician

        • A Food Technology Technician is a profession for individuals interested in food production and its quality, offering a wide range of employment opportunities. Students learn both modern and traditional techniques and technologies of food production, principles of healthy nutrition, research methods, and ways to ensure the highest food quality standards. Our school, as the only one in Łódź, provides students with education in this field alongside acquiring qualifications in confectionery.

Pedagogical innovation allows students to enhance their skills in innovative pastry decoration. During classes, students will develop skills in airbrush coloring, creating decorative elements from sugar paste, royal icing, caramel, and chocolate. Students will also be introduced to the use of liquid nitrogen and elements of molecular cuisine in pastry decoration.

The education lasts for five years. Students are prepared for both the matriculation exam and professional exams.

They also have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities related to preparing and serving confectionery desserts, producing original pastry products (cakes, cookies, gateaus), and learning brewing and serving coffee like a true barista.

          Course of study

Education takes place in well-equipped school workshops. Students deepen their knowledge and skills acquired in school during visits to production facilities and laboratory classes at the Łódź University of Technology.

The curriculum includes: general education subjects, including two foreign languages - English at an advanced level and German, professional subjects implemented in the form of modular education, covering food science and technology, production and decoration of confectionery products, basics of technique, microbiology, food analysis, activities of a food company, and a professional foreign language.

          Professional internships

In the second and fourth grades, students undergo professional internships, totaling 8 weeks. During these internships, they verify their knowledge acquired during school classes and gain new professional knowledge and skills in real workplace conditions. Internships take place in food production facilities collaborating with the school, such as Dakri, Vandemortele, Pamso, Jogo, Hort - Cafe, Bierhalle, craft confectioneries, bakery departments of supermarkets.

          Exams:

At the end of the third grade - examination confirming qualification SPC.01 "Production of confectionery products". At the end of the first semester of the fifth grade - examination confirming qualification SPC.07 "Organization and supervision of food production".
